2019 Santa Sack Appeal Complete

At a time when we’re led to believe as a nation we are full of hate and animosity for one another, this morning we were humbled by the generosity of the general public.

We’re very pleased to confirm that our 2019 Santa Sack appeal is now complete. This morning (18th December) our management team headed over to the Midhurst Methodist Church to drop off a range of toys and gifts donated by local people.

Two local Tesco stores have done a fantastic job of collecting toys from us. A big thank you to David at Tesco Midhurst and Anita from Tesco Haslemere. Between them, in a very short period of just a month, we were able to provide a superb bundle of toys for 16 local families in desperate need of support.

A huge thank you and congratulations is also due to our Strategic Ops ‘guru’ Sarah who arranged and co-ordinated the entire process in a little more than 6 weeks.

Our association also donated around £60 worth of confectionary and toys to the mix, which supported the santa sacks as well as the Midhurst Home Start nursery / playgroup with left over toys and donations. We didn’t have the time to put a monetary value to all of the toys donated to families and the playgroup, but the cost of purchase would have no doubt been in excess of £600 – with an extra £65 spent on the day in local shops too.

We passionately believe this is the sort of thing every local business can do – big and small. The difference it will make to local families in a desperate place this year will be, we hope, significant.

We are entirely self-funded by the BMABA Group of Social Enterprises.
We are not a registered charity. Instead, we use the proceeds of our group's profits from across the UK martial arts sector to self-fund life-changing martial arts. This decision has been reached off the back of difficult decisions around the lack of regular funding available in the UK martial arts sector. We remain charitable in nature, and receive no grants, funding or donations.
